Appeal for funds to challenge the CNPA
07-11-2011
Save the Cairngorms National Park!
We need your help!
Did you know? The Cairngorms National Park Authority plans thousands
of new and unnecessary houses within the National Park.
This means:
- A whole New Town of 1500 houses less than 8 miles from the summit of Cairn Gorm.
- Native Caledonian Pine Woodland and other important habitats, such as heathland and grasslands, destroyed by housing estates.
- Harm to, and loss of, special and protected local wildlife and outstanding landscapes.

The Cairngorms National Park Authority has:--
- Ignored founding legislation and the Park’s primary aim - to safeguard natural and cultural heritage;
- Ignored many conclusions and recommendations of two Scottish Government Reporters of the Local Plan Inquiry;
- Ignored much of its own overarching National Park Plan;
- Ignored our, and others’, sound and serious objections.
All this is based on questionable and excessive projections of housing need:
The National Park Authority’s actions must NOW be challenged.
