The Badenoch and Strahspey Conservation Group and The Cairngorms Campaiign sent a joint letter to the Highland Council requesting an urgent suspension of the works which had already cuased considerable damage to the verges adjacent to a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) as well as a Speciual Protection Area (SPA) and a National Scenic Area (NSA). photos The initial reponse from the Highland Coouncil was that the works were carried out under permitted development rights and that there were no planning considerations. A further joint letter was sent refuting thts view and requesting written confirmation of the suspension of the works.
